Man Utd transfer news, rumours and gossip: Live updates and latest on deals, signings, loans and contracts

Manchester United's nearly seven-hour executive meeting concluded without offering any clarity on Erik ten Hag's future at the club.

The executive meeting of Manchester United concluded almost after seven hours, yet did not give any clarification regarding Erik ten Hag’s future with the club.

Tuesday’s meeting, claimed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Sir Dave Brailsford, Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth, Jean-Claude Blanc, and Jason Wilcox to be nothing more than a routine affair, included among many subjects that pertain to the subject, Ten Hag’s role.

Though speculation continues, there has been nothing official from the management of United about Ten Hag’s future; Ratcliffe noted the decision was not in his hands. The manager, who maintains he enjoys the full backing of the club, had this summer’s contract extension run until June 2026.

Amad withdrew from the Ivory Coast squad.

Amad Diallo was reported to have pulled out of the national team after sustaining an injury, as confirmed by the Ivorian Football Association. The 22-year-old was an unused substitute during Manchester United’s 0-0 stalemate with Aston Villa and joined up with his national team on Monday.

That brings him in line, joining Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Noussair Mazraoui who have all withdrawn due to injuries.

Conflicting Reports about Ten Hag’s Future

The Manchester Evening News states that there seem to be “conflicting whispers” pertaining to the future of Erik Ten Hag. According to a source, nothing should be drawn from United’s silence on the outcome of the executive summit.

No indication over Ten Hag decision after seven-hour Man Utd meeting

No news is good news, or Erik ten Hag will hope.

According to Manchester United, today’s meeting was just a get-together. The INEOS group are now managing all football business at the club, so they hosted the visitors here in London this morning. news hearing suggests that talk of a meeting with Ten Hag to discuss his future was well wide of the mark.

In truth, there is a great deal more going on at United than the managerial situation. “Of course a losing dressing room is a dressing room that isn’t happy,” Ronaldo said just moments after the final whistle. This morning’s meeting covered topics such as new commercial deals, Old Trafford developments, and sponsorship contracts.

There was also a fair degree of chat about the money side of things, too. The interesting stuff starts outside, of course. Sir Jim Ratcliffe arrived at the building at around half-past-9, as did Sir Dave Brailsford. And, like I had been told, there were a few familiar faces in there for the meeting.

Dan Ashworth, for example, was among the party. Considering – as mentioned – that it lasts around four times the length of a general discussion then it is fair to have read a fair bit into these discussions. I had heard Omar Berrada and Jean-Claude Blanc were on the way, too, but can only confirm that was the case after they had left. Around quarter to 5, Blanc was first to leave from the front – with no one else departing until more than 10 minutes later. Sir Jim, who was, in confirmation, led out by the rear entrance – avoiding the small crowd that gathered at the front – put in a sterling shift and stayed through until near enough 5:30.

The suggestion I have now when it comes to Ten Hag’s future, is that these talks are completely independent of United’s touchline business. A meeting took place today, I know that much. No indication has been fed back to me that anything has changed, so I turned to my United contacts and spoke to my Old Trafford source. “I would never be told about anything like that,” they replied. “No one would tell me anything regardless – I’d find out after.”
