Getafe vs Valencia Valencia travels to Madrid this Sunday to take on fellow strugglers Getafe as it attempts to pull itself off the bottom of La Liga. Los Che come into this game on the back of a tough 3-2 home defeat to Las Palmas, which has them in 20th place. Getafe, meanwhile, is sitting three points better off in 16th place, eager to firm up their position and keep clear of the relegation zone.
Analysis and Form Getafe has picked up just one win along with six draws and three losses in its 10 La Liga matches, which puts it in 16th on nine points. Defensively, Getafe has been pretty solid, conceding only eight goals-so far bettered by only Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. However, going forward it has been a different story as it has scored just seven goals, which ties it with Valencia for the second-lowest in the league.
Recent performances have been resilient, as Getafe has lost only once in their last five outings: a narrow 1-0 defeat at Barcelona. They’ve also managed respectable draws with both Osasuna and Villarreal. Their only victory came against Alaves in late September. Having finished 12th place last season, Getafe hopes to avoid relegation this year.
Valencia Analysis and Form Valencia have made a disastrous start to the season, garnering a paltry six points from 10 matches so far, leaving them rock-bottom in La Liga. The side took an early lead against Las Palmas in their last match but eventually conceded three goals and lost, increasing the pressure on head coach Ruben Baraja to turn things around.
With a storied history that includes six La Liga titles and only four seasons in the Segunda Division, the last of which in 1986-87, a relegation would be stunning for Valencia. Yet, scoring has continued to be an issue all season, with a total of just seven goals. Valencia last beat Getafe away in November 2018, although they did manage to clip Getafe 1-0 at home back in March this year.

Getafe Team News: Borja Mayoral faces a muscle problem and is doubtful to begin. Jose Bordalas could name the same starting XI as that which shared a draw recently with Villarreal, with important wingers in Carles Perez and Alex Sola. Impressive summer arrival, Christantus Uche, reportedly eyed by Chelsea will start in attack.
